TJG Donates Another $12,000 in Equipment to Junior Golfers!

Pops & Jr Director Cheyanne Stewart with Today's Junior Golfer representative Adam Abolafia.

On March 3, 2025, Today’s Junior Golfer (TJG) delivered another batch of high-quality golf equipment—valued at over $12,000—to the Pops & Jr Golf Program, which supports young golfers in need of financial or equipment assistance.

TJG: Hi Cheyanne, it’s always great to catch up with you and see all the amazing things happening at Pops & Jr! Can you share how many youth your program has reached so far?

Cheyanne: At our Dobson Ranch location in Mesa, AZ, we’ve reached approximately 600 kids, and at Sierra Vista, we’ve supported around 80 kids so far.

TJG: What is the mission of Pops & Jr?

Cheyanne: The mission of our golf program is to introduce young players to the game of golf and provide player development programs for juniors between the ages of 3 to 18 years old.

TJG: What do these equipment donations mean to Pops & Jr?

Cheyanne: Partnering with Today’s Junior Golfer has saved our program a significant amount of money on equipment, allowing us to allocate funds toward tournament fees, coaching staff, and facility expenses. Giving juniors the opportunity to take home golf clubs is a game-changer—it increases their chances of developing a lasting passion for golf beyond our clinics.

In just seven short months, TJG has donated nearly $25,000 worth of golf gear—including clubs, balls, clothing, push carts, shoes, hats, and umbrellas—to junior golf programs across Arizona.

"When it comes to equipment donations, it’s a simple concept," said TJG representative Adam Abolafia. "If your child has been in junior golf for a few years, they've likely outgrown one or two sets of clubs, bags, and clothing. Most of it ends up sitting in a garage or storage space, and parents aren’t sure what to do with it. We’re here to bridge the gap between unused, quality equipment and young golfers just starting out who need it most. And as an added bonus, since we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we provide parents with a tax-deductible receipt for their donations—just like when you donate clothes to Goodwill or Savers. It’s a win-win for everyone."

This initiative wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community. A special thank you to Dale Balvin, director of USKids Phoenix, for allowing us to set up donation tables at his tournaments, as well as the many parents who reach out for drop-offs and pick-ups.
